Lakeland Ridges Weekend - Itinerary

A traverse of the ridges of the Lakeland Mountains. The notorious knife like arete of Sharp Edge on Blencathra and the two narrow and fantastic ridges of Striding Edge and Swirrel Edge on Helvellyn all in one weekend!  A weekend of high Lakeland mountains across stunning and challenging terrain, with stupendous views of magnificent mountainous fells and deep secluded valleys, providing a variety of new experiences and excitement.

Saturday - Stridding and Swirrel Edge - Helvellyn

A fantastic start to the Ridges Weekend.  The picturesque village of Glenridding is the start for today's 3000' massif and two ridges.  Helvellyn,3117' (950m), the highest in a chain of mountains running from the central Lakes to the north ending just south of the high ridges of Blencathra.

Sunday - Sharp Edge - Blencathra

An ascent of the Lake District's most notorious ridge, the knife like arete of Sharp Edge, on the east face of Blencathra (868m)

Only want to take part in one day of our walking weekends? No problem!  If you only wish to do a specific walk within any one of our walking weekends you can do!  Just contact us and we can book you on to any walk of your choice.  The cost is £35 per person per day (with the exception of the Welsh 3000s: £45).
