Adrenalin Rush here we come!

Want something a little more than the ‘normal’ mountain trekking weekend?  Do you like to ‘push the boundaries’ and scare yourself a little  and do something that gives you that ‘Wow!’ feeling?  Then read on ‘cos this is for you!...

Tryfan and the Ogwen Valley

Two days of climbing some of Snowdonia's high mountain scrambles.

What is rock scrambling? Simply put, it is climbing an easy rock face that is more difficult than a walking route but less difficult than a rock climbing route.  Most of the time this is without a rope or other technical climbing gear.  In other words rock scrambling is that you use your hands for balance and pulling yourself up..  and it is definitely nothing to do with beaten cooked eggs! 😉

Saturday 8 June 2019 – Tryfan North Ridge and Bristly Ridge

Tryfan summit

Tryfan's north ridge is one of Snowdonia's most exhilarating scrambles, with the fun starting from the valley floor all the way to the top.  You'll be using your feet and hands all the way, working out your moves up mini buttress after buttress all the way to the three peaked summit of Tryfan.  After our north face ascent we then descend the south route and then scramble up Bristly Ridge up on the the Glyderau plateau.

Sunday 9 June 2019 – Senior's Gully and Senior's Ridge

Today's adventure starts in the legend soaked Cwm Idwal.  Senior's Gully and Senior's Ridge start from the huge rocky Idwal Slabs.  Don't be fooled by the name!  This isn't an OAP's bimble up.  The lake Llyn Idwal will soon be way below as we make out way up to the top of Idwal Slab via Senior's Gully, then the Senior's Ridge traverses across above the gargantuan Idwal Slab.  We will top out on to Glyder Fawr before descending Y Gribin ridge.

When is it all happening? Saturday 8th to Sunday 9th June 2019.

Who is leading the walks? Our qualified and experienced mountain leader will be navigating the walks and making sure we go the right way, even if we end up with our heads in the clouds!  We will make sure that the pace is right for everyone, that you are all safe, and of course having heaps of fun!

How much will it cost? The cost is only £65 for the weekend which includes hiring your Mountain Leader, and digital summit photos to prove to all of your friends that you did it!!

What about accommodation? We haven’t included this in the price as in our experience, people enjoy different things, but we can help you find what you want if you need a hand.  There are plenty of B&Bs, hotels, bunk-houses, and for the hardcore, campsites in and around the Betws y Coed and Capel Curig area.

Will I be fit enough? Yes!  If you are moderately active on a regular basis you will be more than capable of enjoying the weekend.  The walks will take between 6 and 7 hours a day and there are a few ups and downs which provide a challenge, but we don’t race round, we take regular breaks and no-one will be left behind!

How do I book? There is a maximum of 10 places per trip allocated on a first come, first serve basis. So to make sure that one of them is yours, please book by clicking on 'Register for this event' at the top right of this page and we’ll email you a list of what you need to bring, details of where to meet and help with accommodation if required.
